- 1996: BPS achieves DIN EN ISO 9002 certification
- 2001: the certification is included under DIN EN ISO 9001:2000
- 2008: the standard becomes DIN EN ISO 9001:2008

Criteria for translators and interpreters
- Recognised university qualification
- Experience and specialisation in one or several predefined fields
- Successful completion of a translation test, according to criteria that include meeting a deadline / overall quality / comprehension / idioms / terminology / style
